National Novel Writing Month 2017

I discovered National Novel Writing Month back in 2008. I'm not even sure how I happened upon it [I suspect it was while on the now-defunct SixApart Vox website]. I'd been noodling around with the Arthurian concept for about a year or two trying to figure out how to write the story. Nearly a decade later, I'm halfway through the published series. This year's NaNoWriMo is all about Matrix Trigger, the third book in the Arthurian Series.

I'm getting to be an old pro at reaching 50,000 words in 30 days, which is the goal of NaNoWriMo, so this year I'm shooting for 75,000 words, which is a good target for the rough draft, which I can work through to grow into a fully formed first draft.

So how's it going? I'm 10 days into the month and at 25,213 words, which is right on target for my goal. I'll post again on the 20th, the 30th, and post-mortem on the writing process.

I wish I could write like this all year, but editing and rewriting takes a serious amount of time away from generating new content.

By the way, I love what I'm writing. All the pieces are set on the stage now, so Matrix Trigger is upping the story ante.
